When not to hire a private investigator ?
-
After an argument with your
spouse: Even though you may feel hurt, you do not
automatically need to hire a private investigator. Taking such a step
may
even harm a reconciliation effort or unnecessarily escalate the
conflict.
-
Small sums: Hiring an
investigations office is not inexpensive. There is no
economic justification to hire a private investigator when small amounts
of money
are involved, or when you can resolve the issue independently through a
small outlay
of cash.
-
Neighborly feuds: These types of
altercations are best resolved face-to-face. Consider
hiring a private investigator only in extreme cases of bodily harm,
damage caused
to your property, harassment, or threats.
-
Workforce check: There is no need
to conduct surveillance of every individual
in your employee. If pens disappear from the office, or excessive use of
the
photocopier is made - there is no need to hire a private investigator.
However,
an investigation of employees' reliability is recommended when employees
handle large amounts of money or are party to confidential information.
-
When you have sufficient evidence.
A private investigator can discover additional
evidence, but in many cases, you should consult with a lawyer to
determine
whether the proof you already have may be sufficient.
